Greu - Oil Painting
This Blue Lacy hound had a habit of
looking at you from the corner of his eye.
His owner wanted me to catch that certain
look and she caught her breath when she
saw the painting.

Afternoon Siesta - Oil Painting
These horses provided me with an opportunity
to use a "chiaroscuro" (into the light) method of
painting, utilized by the Old Masters. I also
layered glazes to create the luminous quality
you see.

Osito & Higgins - Oil
Painting
This painting was a birthday present from a
wife to her husband for his 65th birthday.
It was becoming increasingly difficult to
surprise him, and we went to great lenghts to
get this done without his knowledge. Our
success was evident at the presentation when
its unveiling brought tears to his eyes.

Gemini & Cooney - Oil
Painting
The client that commissioned this painting
allowed me to try something a little different
than the usual straightforward painting. I
lifted the background paint off to produce the
images of the horse and the dog and then
layered the glazes to produce the glow. I used
a high viewpoint to give the painting a
different look.

Christy - Pastel Painting
This was the first of several painting
commissioned by one of my clients. Christy
is a young, sweet, German Shepherd, of
thinner build, who brings hours of pleasure to
her owners.

BZ & Skipper - Pastel
Painting
These two horses were owned by an older
woman who wanted a painting to immortalize
them. One horse was leased out to another
woman and I also did another painting of just
that horse for my client to give as a gift to her.

Trooper -
Pastel Painting
The client for this painting wanted to
combine the gift recipients favorite
horse, and favorite place, on their
beautiful ranch in Northern
New Mexico.
